Alex Francouer, P. Geol, President

Alex moved from Montreal to Calgary in September 1979 after graduating with a BSc. in Geology from Concordia University, and began his career as a Wellsite Geologist in the fall of 1980. After working for several consulting groups, he started Serpa Petroleum Consulting in 1987, and began hiring other geologists in 1991. In 1996 the company was incorporated as Serpa Petroleum Consulting Ltd.

The year 2000 was the start of a series of long-term heavy oil projects in the Cold Lake- Primrose area for CNRL (CSS & SAGD and oilsand coring), and AEC/EnCana (Foster Creek SAGD Phase 1) followed by multi-year oil sand coring projects for Nexen Inc., and then other SAGD projects for Deer Creek, ConocoPhillips, and EnCana. Alex became a member of APEGGA and a Professional Geologist in 2004.

Dane A. Bridge, M.Sc., P.Geol, Senor Director

Dane obtained a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Manitoba in 1969 and an M.Sc. in 1972. He joined Esso Minerals in 1972, and worked in precious metal exploration, mainly in BC, until 1984. In 1984 he headed a field office for Esso in Timmins where he focused on gold exploration for 5 years. Dane moved to Calgary in 1989, and for the next 5 years focused on oil sands geology and operations with Esso in Fort McMurray and Cold Lake.

Dane became an independent consultant in 1994 and concentrated on oil sands core description, basement geology relationships with structurally enhanced porosity in Keg River or Methy Formation for water disposal, oil sands horizontal drilling projects and management of winter oil sands coring projects. Dane has been a partner with Serpa Petroleum Consulting Ltd. since 2000.

Chantel Kehoe, B.Sc, Lead Field Coordinator/Supervisor

Chantel is originally from Edmonton and graduated from the University of Alberta with a B.Sc in Geology in 2002. She worked for the Alberta Geological Survey as well as the junior exploration company Hectori Inc before becoming a wellsite geologist with Serpa Petroleum Consulting in the fall of 2003. Since that time, she has worked on almost 200 wells, with extensive experience in the oilsands regions of Alberta, including the Cold Lake, Ft McMurray and Wabasca areas. Chantel also has experience with Coal Bed Methane wells in central Alberta and BC, Spearfish wells in southern Manitoba, and conventional oil and gas wells throughout the WCSB. In 2004 she worked on the first exploratory CBM wells for Shell in British Columbia and in 2009 she was on the first exploratory Shale Gas well for Petrobank in northern BC. She is familiar with many different directional/MWD tools including Gamma (OGR, DGR, ABG), Resistivity (EWR, ADR) and Geo-Pilot.

Chantel spends most of her spare time volunteering for the international disaster response charity GlobalMedic.
